Four Simple Steps to Transfer

The entire process takes a few minutes on your side. We handle everything after that. Most transfers complete within 5 to 7 days with zero disruption to your website or email.

01. Unlock Your Domain

Log in to your current registrar's control panel and disable the "Registrar Lock" or "Transfer Lock" on your domain. This security setting prevents transfers by default — you must turn it off before the process can begin. If you are unsure how to do this, contact us and we will guide you.

02. Get Your Auth Code

Request your EPP code (also called an Auth Code or Transfer Code) from your current registrar. This is a unique security string that authorises the transfer. Most registrars provide it via email within a few hours of your request. Some provide it instantly through their control panel.

03. Submit and Confirm

Enter your domain name in the transfer form above, proceed through checkout, and provide your EPP code when prompted. You will receive a verification email at the address registered to your domain — click the confirmation link to approve the transfer. Check your spam folder if it does not arrive within 30 minutes.

04. Transfer Complete

Most transfers finalise within 5 to 7 business days depending on your current registrar. Your website and email remain fully active throughout the entire process. Once complete, your domain appears in your TIN Solutions client portal and you gain full control, full support, and a one-year registration extension.

No. A domain transfer only moves the management of your domain name from one registrar to another. Your DNS records, and therefore your website and email services, are not affected during the transfer. Everything continues operating exactly as it did before. You can choose to migrate your hosting and email to TIN Solutions separately at any time after the transfer is complete.

Domains cannot be transferred within 60 days of their original registration or a previous transfer. This is an industry-wide ICANN policy that applies to all registrars. Additionally, your domain must not be expired — it needs to be active with at least a few days remaining. Some country-code extensions like .co.za may have slightly different transfer rules. Contact our team if you are unsure whether your domain qualifies.

Transfer fees vary by domain extension. The transfer cost typically includes a one-year renewal of your domain, so you are effectively paying for your next year of registration while also moving registrars — no separate renewal fee on top. An EPP code (also called an Auth Code, Transfer Code, or Authorization Code) is a unique security string issued by your current registrar. It proves you have permission to transfer the domain. Log in to your current registrar's dashboard and look for "Get EPP Code", "Auth Code", or "Transfer Code" in your domain settings. If you cannot find it, contact your current registrar's support team and request it directly. Once you have it, enter it during checkout on the TIN Solutions transfer form.

Most transfers complete within 5 to 7 business days. The timeline depends largely on how quickly your current registrar processes the release. Some registrars complete it faster. Once you confirm the transfer via the verification email, the process runs automatically and you will receive a notification when it is done. Your domain then appears in your TIN Solutions client portal and is ready to manage.
